The Gresleys

Traverse the history of Castle Gresley and visit Castle Knob. Discover stories of the potteries, clay works and collieries against the backdrop of the developing National Forest. The final leg of the walk will continue through Church Gresley, then back to Toon’s, where refreshments are available from the Coffee Shop.

This walk is led by Dot Morson as part of the Black to Green Summer Walks programme. Please wear walking boots or walking shoes. Remember to bring any medication you may need, along with a drink & a snack. No dogs allowed.

Starting point – Toon’s Furniture Store car park, Castle Gresley, DE11 9HQ

Distance – 3¾ miles, 2 stiles

Terrain – pavements, field paths (muddy after rain) & woodland rides.
