The Heart of the Forest Walk

Follow the National Forest Way from Moira to Boothorpe and return through Maybury Woods. Listen to stories of Rawdon Pit, Norris Hill House and Moira Pottery, all important at the turn of the 20th century, now long gone.

This walk is led by Dot Morson as part of the Black to Green Summer Walks programme. Please wear walking boots or walking shoes. Remember to bring any medication you may need, along with a drink & a snack. No dogs allowed.

Starting point – YHA National Forest 48 Bath Lane, Moira DE12 6BD

Distance – 4¾ miles, 3 stiles

Terrain – Woodland rides, field paths and village pavements. The ground can be muddy after rain.
