The Moth Hotel
As part of this years citizen science project we have teamed up with Timbers Festival producers Wild Rumpus and Leicestershire County Moth Recorder Adrian Russell to create a giant moth trap! Each morning of the festival Adrian will be inside the Moth Hotel helping to identify the species that have been caught during the night, before then releasing them. This special moth hotel is inspired by Bob Dewick’s design at Curry Farm, Essex, which is thought to be the world’s largest moth trap.
Identification of the hotels temporary inhabitants will take place between 7-9am on Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th July.
To take part a Festival pass for Timber will need to be purchased. Tickets start from £40 for an adult day pass and £15 for children (under 3 yrs free). Residents in the National Forest are eligible for a 25% discount on tickets.
Further information about The Moth Hotel, the full festival programme and ticket bookings are all available from the Timber website.
