Roving Rangers

Roving Rangers are a Forestry Commission volunteer group who work on sites across the National Forest including some within the Heart of the Forest. The group work at new woodlands to undertake a range of conservation, site maintenance and forestry tasks. Volunteer work helpsĀ to maximise the benefit of woodlands to wildlife and visitors alongside ongoing management of the trees for timber production. All tools and protective equipment is provided, sensible clothing appropriate for the weather should be worn, in particular stout shoes are a must. No previous experience is needed and all training is given during the work party.
