Swadlincote Woodlands Conservation Group

This group, led by The Conservation Volunteers (TCV), meet every first Tuesday of the month to carry out conservation and management work at this beautiful urban woodland park.  Sessions run from 10am – 3pm, and you might find yourself cutting back vegetation to keep paths clear, clearing rubbish from ponds, improving access or raking a hay meadow!

The group is open to any adult of reasonable health and fitness.  You do not need to be strong, or young, or fit, or to have any previous experience.  The group encourages women and people who live close to the park to join.  Tools, training and tea and biscuits are provided.  The group meet 10am at the Swadlincote Woodlands main car park.

Those involved enjoy the fresh air and each others’ company, and benefit from being more active in the outdoors. There is a real sense of achievement gained from making a very visible and positive difference in our community.

A man in a hat, up to his waste clearing a pond. Looking very happy.
